SmartStart Education has partnered with CS Extends for afterschool programming and other extension activities in the fields of Computer Science and Software Engineering. All our classes teach the most essential CS concepts through projectbased learning. Each course culminates in a project that students will be able to share with friends and family.

Block Programming CS Concepts: Block programming is an easy, fun, and engaging way to learn the ins and outs of computer science and software engineering. This is taught through block programming via Scratch and Scratch Jr. The course focuses on the concepts behind all coding languages and introduces your students to the fundamentals of each language before getting started with a specific coding language. Available for all grade levels K through 12.

Web Design for All Ages: Students will learn the fundamentals of creating a dynamic website through three specific web design languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript. These are the languages used by industry professionals across the globe and by the end of this course, all students will be able to create a dynamic website no matter their age. Please note, there are separate courses for students depending on their grade, K- 12.

Python for Gamers: This course is designed for students in grades 7-12 who have an interest in learning the ins and outs of game design through the coding language Python. Students will create interactive games they can play with friends and family. This course is perfect for the student with an entrepreneurial spirit that wants to take these concepts to design their own games.

Expressive Arts through Computer Graphics: Students will have the ability to express themselves through computer graphics via multiple coding languages. This class is perfect for students who excel in their arts classes and would like to transfer those art skills to coding. This course is designed for students in grades 7-12.
