Isaak Aronson is the CEO/Founder of SmartStart Education. In this role, he has led the growth of the organization into an educational services provider with a diverse portfolio of distance learning courses, academic intervention services, professional development, and parent programs through the development of institutional contracts with large urban school districts including New York City and Baltimore City.
Dr. Aronson also serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. He is the Advisor and Focus Lead for the Entrepreneur in Education Focus in the International Teaching and Global Leadership Master’s Program. He also teaches Politics of Education.
Prior to founding SmartStart Education in 2007, he served as the Director of Federal Programs for The Enrichment Centers in Bethesda, MD and the Senior Director of Educational Programs at Ashlin Management Group in Greenbelt, MD. Previously, he worked as a middle and high school teacher in the United States Virgin Islands and Washington, DC.
Dr. Aronson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Tufts University and worked as a science Research Assistant for two years at Columbia University prior to becoming a full-time teacher. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Education with a focus in Peace Education from The George Washington University, and a PhD in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland at College Park.
